With the fifth pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the Raiders bolstered their defense by selecting outside linebacker Khalil Mack from Buffalo.

College career: All-time Division-I leader in forced fumbles (16) and tackles for loss (75). He also amassed 28.5 career sacks to go along with four interceptions. His only scholarship offers coming out of high school were from Liberty and Buffalo.

Scouting report: Some experts believed Mack was the best player in this draft because he does most everything well. He’s an excellent pass rusher, with great power and agility. He’s strong against the run and better than expected in coverage.

How he fits: Mack will fit in in this defense as a 4-3 outside linebacker and should make an immediate impact. He could be used in a similar way to Denver’s Von Miller, whom Raiders head coach Dennis Allen worked with in one year as Broncos defensive coordinator.
