PFT: NFL players formally ratify new CBA

The NFLs players have voted today to ratify a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, allowing the league year to begin.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports had the first report that the deal has been approved.

Just got word from a source they have received enough votes! Let the league year begin, Glazer wrote on Twitter. The players have voted to ratify the new CBA!

Its not clear what happened with the last remaining hurdles -- including blood testing for human growth hormone and appeals of league discipline for personal-conduct policy violations -- but the bottom line is that the NFL year is now under way.
