RAIDERS TRAINING CAMP
Veterans reported to training camp at the Napa Valley Marriott on Wednesday. The team held meetings and a conditioning test on Thursday. They will practice for the first time on Friday afternoon. The first workout in pads is Sunday.
You’ll notice two things from the calendar below:
1. Head coach Dennis Allen has scheduled all afternoon practices: “There will be a flow to the day from a walk-through to meetings to a practice where you can apply everything you’ve learned.”
2. The Raiders time in Napa is shorter that usual. There are just 13 practices at the Napa Valley Marriott this season. From Dennis Allen: “Time up here is good because it helps you get away from distractions and really focus on building toward the season. …But I always thought we spent too much time here. I think it’ll do us some good to get everyone back in their own beds and back in a regular-season routine at little earlier this year.
NOTE: Due to overwhelming demand, Raiders training camp practices are NOT open to the general public. The team invites season ticket holders to sessions at the Napa Valley Marriott from Friday-Aug. 2. Training camp dates and invitations have already been arranged. From Aug. 4-10, the Raiders limit access to already-invited special groups including charities, boosters, military groups and sponsors.
