The Raiders released their official list of undrafted free agent signings on Friday morning, with the team’s official rookie minicamp in session.
The Raiders added four bodies at wide receiver, including Texas receiver Mike Davis and San Jose State’s Noel Grigsby, Jr. Running back/return man George Atkinson, son of a former Raiders great of the same name, was also brought in.
After using six of eight draft picks on defense, the Raiders balanced the scales with just one undrafted defender in Winston-Salem State linebacker Carlos Fields.
Members of this group need health and standout production to have a chance at cracking the 53-man roster. A select few make the team out of training camp. Last season, defensive end Ryan Robinson and quarterback Matt McGloin were the only undrafted free agents to make it out of camp.
It’s not impossible to have an NFL career after going undrafted, and the Raiders have a few examples of that. Count receiver Rod Streater, middle linebacker Nick Roach and fullback Marcel Reece among the undrafted success stories.
Here’s a full list of undrafted free agents signed thus far. The Raiders have players in this minicamp on a tryout basis, so a extra name or two might be added later on.
