Raiders injury report: TJ Carrie ‘just bruised up'

Share

ALAMEDA -– TJ Carrie’s left arm was in a sling after Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears. Not a good sign. The Raiders defensive back was moving his arms freely Wednesday morning, a step in the right direction for a player vital to a thin secondary.

The Raiders characterized Carrie’s ailment as a chest injury, which occurred during a punt return at Solider Field.

“It’s not as bad as I thought it was. It’s just bruised up,” Carrie said. “The biggest thing is continuing to rehab day by day and gain confidence that my body can perform as it needs to. That will make it easier to go on.”

Carrie wasn’t ready to participate in Wednesday’s padded practice, and may not be ready to play next week against the Denver Broncos. Losing him for even a week is bad news, but losing him for a longer term would be a scary proposition for the Raiders defense.

Carrie said he is going to rehab right and ensure he’s ready to return without risk of a major setback.

“The biggest thing is knowing that you’re ready go out and do your job,” Carrie said. “You don’t want to further hinder yourself and your team by going back too early. You want to rehab yourself right and put yourself in position to help the team.”
