ALAMEDA -- The Raiders trimmed their roster to 75 players on Tuesday, a few hours before a scheduled practice and the NFL deadline to do so.
Most transactions involved house cleaning, designating injured players with various roster-spot saving tags.
The most prominent involved cornerback D.J. Hayden, who was placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. Tight end Nick Kasa was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn ACL, an expected move after he went down during joint practices with the Dallas Cowboys.

Left guard Lucas Nix, who made 10 starts last season, was waived-failed physical. He was on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list recovering from knee surgery.
Receiver Greg Jenkins, running back Kory Sheers and safety Larry Asante were waived-injured. If those players clear waivers, they can be placed on the team’s IR list or be eligible for an injury settlement.
Receiver Juron Criner, a 2012 fifth-round pick, was waived. He was never in the Raiders plans, and never made an impact at the NFL level.
The Raiders released veteran quarterback Trent Edwards, a Stanford alum who rarely took practice snaps and never played in a game.
The Raiders will play Thursday’s preseason finale with 75 players, but must cut the roster to 53 by Saturday at 1 p.m.
