Raiders offseason program starts April 18

The Raiders offseason program structure was made public by the NFL on Friday morning, which announced key dates for each team in the coming months.

The Silver and Black started up earlier last spring, a luxury afforded to teams with new head coaches. Jack Del Rio enters his second go-round, with his entire staff intact.

The offseason program formally starts on April 18, launching a two-week period focused on conditioning. No on-field instruction is permitted during a period dubbed Phase One.

Phase Two lasts three weeks and includes individual player instruction, though team periods are prohibited.

Phase Three consists of team periods and 10 practice sessions over four weeks. They are called OTAs. Teams can hold a mandatory minicamp after OTAs are complete.

Teams are allowed to host a rookie minicamp shortly after the NFL draft.

Last year, Del Rio was trying to teach new schemes and establish a new culture while the facility was under renovations. This time, Del Rio will reinforce last year’s teachings while integrating a small group of imports.

Here are some key dates in the Raiders offseason program:

First day: April 18
Rookie minicamp: May 13-15
Organized Team Activities: May 24-26, May 31, June 1-2, June 6-9
Mandatory minicamp: June 14-16
