Raiders' playoff hopes not dead yet

"You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?""I'd say, more like one out of a million.""So you're telling me there's a chance."No doubt the Raiders' playoff hopes took a significant shot with Sunday's 28-27 loss to Detroit. But as Lloyd gleaned from Mary in "Dumb and Dumber," hope for a postseason berth lives for Oakland, at least for another week. It's simple, really. Win out by beating the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Eve at Arrowhead Stadium and the San Diego Chargers on New Year's Day at the O.co Coliseum, while the Chiefs upend the Denver Broncos in that season finale, and the Raiders are AFC West champs. How? Well, both the Raiders and Broncos would then be 9-7 (assuming the Broncos win at Buffalo this weekend) and while they have split their season series, Oakland would have a better division record at 4-2 to the Broncos' 3-3.Of course, that would take some major soul-searching and adjusting by the Raiders, whose heartbreaking loss to Detroit might have taken more out of the team than the previous two beatdowns administered by Miami and Green Bay.Plus, the Chiefs are riding high on the arm of Kyle Orton after handing the Packers their first defeat of the season on Sunday. And the suddenly revitalized Chargers are pulling their annual December magic act by getting their passing game in order again. Is it doable? Well, who would have thought Matthew Stafford could have taken the Lions 98 yards with just over two minutes to play and without a timeout?
