Oakland originally signed Mady as an undrafted free agent on April 29. Mady was waived at the end of training camp on Aug. 31, before being signed to the practice squad on Sept. 2.

The 6-2, 315-pound Mady started 22 games on the offensive line over two years at Youngstown State after transferring from Butler County Community College (El Dorado, Kan.).
