Raiders' Pryor makes season debut

OAKLAND -- Terrelle Pryor made his long-awaited season debut today against Kansas City and lasted all of one three-and-out series.

Of course, it began with a false start penalty, on right guard Mike Brisiel -- Pryor's lone snap in 2011 was wiped out on a false start penalty on…Pryor -- so the third-stringer began with a 1st and 15 this own 10-yard line, on the first offensive play of the second quarter.

Pryor handed off to Darren McFadden, who picked up six yards, before handing off to McFadden again for a two-yard gain. Then, on 3rd and 7, Pryor missed Darrius Heyward-Bey across the middle.

Shane Lechler came on to punt and Pryor's series was done. Palmer, who the Raiders' radio broadcast said is ill with flu-like symptoms, returned.

Per PFT, Raiders coach Dennis Allen "apparently made it clear to the CBS crew doing the game that Palmer is his 'quarterback of the future,' and that Pryor is a wrinkle.

The 3-10 Raiders led 9-0 at halftime over the 2-11 Chiefs, who did not have a first down heading into the intermission.

Oakland also suffered a pair of first-half injuries to its secondary as new starting cornerback Phillip Adams and backup safety Mike Mitchell were being evaluated for head and neck injuries, respectively.
