ALAMEDA -- The Raiders re-signed defensive lineman Brian Sanford to the 53-man roster. There was an open slot after offensive tackle Jack Cornell was released on Monday. Cornell was re-added to the practice squad.
Cornell was promoted before Sunday's victory over Pittsburgh — he didn't play — to add depth to an ailing offensive line. Bringing back Sanford is a sign that either right tackle Tony Pashos or swing tackle Menelik Watson are expected to play next against the Philadephia Eagles.
Sanford has appeared in four games and started one. He was released Oct. 26 to add Cornell.
