The Raiders released seven players on Sunday, prior to an afternoon practice session.

Tight end Kyle Auffray, offensive tackle Emmett Cleary, linebacker Justin Cole, receiver Mike Davis, defensive tackle Torrell Troup, cornerback Jansen Watson and receiver Rahsaan Vaughn were cut.

There are no surprises in this list of cuts. No player stood out over a prolonged period. The team had high hopes for Davis, but the University of Texas alum never showcased strong moments.

Auffray was here a short period to shore up depth at tight end, but never had a chance to make an impact.

The Raiders now have 83 players on their roster. The NFL mandates they drop to 75 on Tuesday and 53 on Saturday, before they begin regular-season work the following week.
