MINNEAPOLIS -– The Raiders made their third transaction in two days, signing kicker Kevin Goessling just before they left for Friday’s exhibition opener at the Minnesota Vikings.
The team waived kicker/punter Michael Palardy with a non-football illness designation.
Goessling played some with quarterback Derek Carr at Fresno State, last kicking for the Bulldogs in 2011. He wasn’t drafted in 2012. He signed with the Chicago Bears, but was released before the regular season.
Goessling will spell primary kicker Sebastian Janikowski throughout the preseason.
