Raiders SS Woodson leads Pro Bowl voting, FB Reece second

ALAMEDA – Raiders safety Charles Woodson still plays at a high level, even at age 39. He remains tied for the NFL lead with five interceptions, even at age 39.

Players have taken notice, and fans are paying respect in the ballot box. Woodson still leads in Pro Bowl voting, which the league updated on Wednesday.

Woodson has nearly doubled second-place vote getter Kam Chancellor among strong safeties, a wave that lead him to his first Pro Bowl appearance since 2011. He has been selected eight times in a Hall-of-Fame career, and this one would certainly mean something so late in his career.

He isn’t the only Raider in decent position to make the Pro Bowl. Fullback Marcel Reece ranks second among fullbacks. Quarterback Derek Carr is sixth in his position group, though some above him are legit Super Bowl contenders and could vacate those spots due to playoff obligations.

Receiver Amari Cooper is fifth, punter Marquette King is sixth, center Rodney Hudson is seventh and Khalil Mack is sixth among defensive ends.

Pro Bowl voting continues through Dec. 15. The Pro Bowl rosters will be announced Dec. 22.
