Raiders tender exclusive rights FAs Roberts, Autry

The Raiders kept a pair of important young players in the fold, offering one-year contract tenders to exclusive rights free agents in receiver Seth Roberts and defensive lineman Denico Autry.

The tenders bind these players to the Raiders, who can only negotiate with their team. Exclusive rights free agents have two or fewer seasons of NFL service, and the tender is technically close to the league minimum.

Normally these designations end up on bit players, but Roberts and Autry made a significant impact last season.

Roberts was the Raiders’ No. 3 receiver and typically manned the slot. He had 32 catches for 480 yards and five touchdowns last season. Roberts is expected to remain the third receiving option behind Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper.

Autry became a major defensive player as the season wore on, manning the end and tackle spots when things got tough. He had 22 tackles, three sacks, three passes defensed and a safety. He also blocked a field goal on special teams.

Defensive lineman Shelby Harris was among other Raiders to receive an exclusive right free agent tender.
