The Raiders have released veteran receiver Greg Little, according to Pro Football Talk.

Little got off to a fast start, but his release was predictable after a series of lackluster performances in the preseason.

Claimed off waivers from the Cleveland Browns this offseason, Little was expected to be a big play threat in this Raiders offense. His reputation for dropping passes was validated over the course of training camp, and he never showed the consistency the Raiders coaching staff was looking for.

This virtually guarantees that second year pro Brice Butler will make the squad.
