DENVER -- Raiders linebacker Sio Moore was was involved in a car accident on Saturday morning before the team left for Denver. He was diagnosed with a concussion by team doctors, but was deemed able to make the charter flight for Monday night's game against the Denver Broncos. He was added to the team's injury report and is listed as questionable.
Playing football so quickly after suffering a concussion seems unlikely, considering Moore must pass an NFL-mandated series of concussion-related tests before being cleared to play.
Moore believes he'll play. He tweeted as much after the team arrived in Denver on Saturday afternoon.
Talk about a scary morning man. Just thank god I'm safe and made it safely to CO— Sio Moore (@MrOakTown55) September 22, 2013
100% I'll be in my black with my squad...— Sio Moore (@MrOakTown55) September 22, 2013
Moore has been a major contributor in his rookie season. He's the Raiders starting strongside linebacker, although he has been hampered in recent weeks by a toe injury. When healthy, he has the talent to be an impact player against the run and pass. If he can't play, Kaluka Maiava will start in his place.
