Shane Lechler will likely be punting for the Texans against his old team on Sunday, but right now he's in a Houston area hospital.
The Houston Chronicle reports the ex-Raiders punter will spend the night in the hospital Thursday due to the flu, but is scheduled to be released on Friday. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he expects Lechler to play against Oakland on Sunday.
Lechler is the only punter on the Texans roster after signing a three-year, $5.5 million deal in May. He spent his first 13 NFL seasons in Oakland.
This season, Lechler is averaging 48.7 yard per punt.
Lechler and the Texans face the Raiders in Houston on Sunday at 10 a.m. PST.
