The Raiders allowed their top two free agents to sign with other teams on Tuesday afternoon. Left tackle Jared Veldheer signed with the Arizona Cardinals and defensive end Lamarr Houston left for the Chicago Bears.
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Veldheer signed a five-year deal that could be worth $37.5 million. Rapoport also reported that Houston signed a five-year deal worth $35 million with $15 million guaranteed.
The Raiders responded by signing offensive lineman Rodger Saffold, who is expected to play left tackle though many believe he’s better at guard.
