Blues forward Maxim Lapierre, who hit Boyle from behind in the Sharks' 6-2 win on Tuesday, was offered an in-person hearing with the league according to several reports. That means Lapierre could potentially be suspended for more than five games.

In other player news, forward Adam Burish will be out for an extended period of time with a back injury that will require surgery. Burish was hurt in the Sharks' preseason opener on Sep. 16 and had not skated since.
