The Sharks continue to trim their roster in advance of the season opener on Oct. 8 against Phoenix.
Monday they cut goalies Thomas Heemskerk and Tyson Sexsmith, left wing Brandon Mashinter and defenseman Nick Petrecki.
Petrecki is a former first-rounder, picked 28th overall in the 2007 draft. All four players were were assigned to San Jose's AHL affiliate in Worcester.

Heemskerk was signed as a free agent in Sept. 2009 and Sexsmith was a third-round selection in the 2007 NHL Draft.
Mashinter is also a free agent acquisition, signed in March 2009. He appeared in 13 games for San Jose last season.
