Sharks forward Tomas Hertl will miss at least one month with a right knee injury, and possibly much longer, a team source told CSNCalifornia.com on Friday.

The Sharks are still awaiting results from an MRI Hertl received earlier on Friday.

The NHL’s rookie leading scorer with 25 points, Hertl was hit by Kings captain Dustin Brown late in the first period of the Sharks’ 4-1 loss at Staples Center on Thursday. Brown received a five-minute major for kneeing and a game misconduct.

The Sharks have recalled rookie Matt Nieto from ECHL San Francisco.
