LA Kings recall Budaj; star netminder Jonathan Quick hurt?

The Los Angeles Kings have lost a bit of steam coming out of the All-Star break - no longer the hottest team in the Pacific - and could be entering uncharted waters with the latest development between the pipes.

Backup Jhonas Enroth appears to be in as the starter for L.A. on Thursday when the team visits the New York Islanders for the first time at the Barclays Center.

It is the second contest of their three-game East Coast road trip.

Meanwhile, superstar netminder Jonathan Quick is listed as 'day-to-day' after being in a collision with Bruins forward Jimmy Hayes in Tuesday's 9-2 rout of Boston at TD Garden.

"Just take it day-to-day," Kings coach Darryl Sutter said of Quick's status, per L.A. Kings Insider Jon Rosen.

"I know he wants to play, but I think I'll have to handle that one. He finished the game [on Tuesday]. He wants to play. Anything more is nobody's business."

Goaltender Peter Budaj will be recalled from the AHL, according to Rosen.

Quick, 30, is third in the NHL in wins with 28 over 44 starts. His .918 save percentage in 2015-16 is sixth-best among goalies that have played in 40 or more games.

The injury comes at an untimely part of the season for the Kings, as the rival Sharks have been the fourth-best team in the NHL since December 15.
