SAN JOSE -- Sharks head coach Todd McLellan missed practice on Tuesday due to a personal commitment. He flew directly from Ottawa to Los Angeles on Monday, where the Sharks play the Kings Wednesday night.

Forward Matt Nieto, who missed the 5-2 win on Sunday in Ottawa with a hand injury, also flew directly to Los Angeles. Nieto, from Long Beach, was spending time with family. His status for Wednesday’s game is uncertain.

In Nieto’s absence, forward Marty Havlat skated on Joe Pavelski’s line with Tommy Wingels. Brent Burns skated by himself on Tuesday morning, but left the ice before his teammates went on for practice. James Sheppard, who had a goal and an assist against Ottawa, remained in Burns’ place with Joe Thornton and Tomas Hertl. Dan Boyle continued to skate, but was not taking shifts with a regular partner, suggesting he may miss Wednesday's game.

Associate coach Larry Robinson is expected to update the Sharks’ injury situation after the skate.
