There has, and always will be a rivalry between Northern and Southern California.

Whether it was the 1974 World Series between the Oakland A's and Los Angeles Dodgers, with four of the five games ending in a final score of 3-2, or the epic seven-game series between the San Jose Sharks and the Los Angeles Kings in 2013, postseason matchups pitting upper and lower California teams against each other are sure to entertain.

There have been 26 postseason matchups between Northern and Southern California professional teams over the years. Southern California teams lead the overall series 17-9.
