SAN JOSE – Kings forward Mike Richards will not be suspended by the NHL for his spear of Logan Couture in Sunday's Game 2, according to NBC's ProHockeyTalk.com.
Richards was issued a double-minor at 14:44 of the third period, hitting Couture below the belt after the pair got tangled up in the corner.
Couture wasn’t happy with the play after the Sharks’ 7-2 win.
“He speared me. Right in front of the ref. I guess we’ll see what happens. He got me pretty good, a full-on spear right in front of the ref, so we’ll see what happens,” Couture said.

“You could tell they were frustrated and they were running around and I guess being cheap. Just stick to our plan and take the power plays, and move on.”
Frustration may be setting in for Richards, who has struggled mightily for the Kings in the first two games. The 29-year-old center, who at one point was demoted to the fourth line late in the regular season, is the only Los Angeles player who has played in both games that has zero shots on goal.
