The Sharks announced Friday that they reduced their training camp roster by releasing defenseman Scooter Vaughan and wingers Tony Lucia and James Marcou.

Vaughan was in camp on tryout status. He played for the University of Michigan last season. Lucia, a left wing, and Marcou, a right wing, spent last season with Worcester of the AHL.

Lucia was selected in the sixth round of the 2005 draft with the 193rd overall pick. Marcou was signed as a free agent in March.

San Jose now has 55 players in camp.
