BOSTON – Another game, another questionable hit.

Sharks winger Tommy Wingels was forced from a game in Boston after taking a high hit from Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara with 2:28 to go in the first period. Wingels did not return.

The Sharks are already down several players due to injury, including Dan Boyle, who was run from behind by Maxim Lapierre in a game in St. Louis on Oct. 15. Boyle was knocked unconscious, and skated for the first time on Thursday morning.

San Jose players have been involved in several such hits. Lapierre was suspended for five games for hitting Boyle, and Vancouver’s Alex Edler was given a three-game ban for a high hit on rookie Tomas Hertl.

Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart was also suspended for three games for getting Rick Nash with a high check on Oct. 8 against the Rangers.
