Stepherson Airplane lands in Cleveland after Kerith's tweet

You know the rule: Never read the comments. You also know that we ignore the rule quite often.

So does Steph Curry. But in this case, he created a fun moment, so we’ll let it slide.

NBC Sports Bay Area's Kerith Burke tweeted at Steph before halftime of the Warriors’ 119-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, and asked him to do an airplane celebration after he ran out onto the court.

He happily obliged, though he did it during game action, not when running out of the tunnel.

So the guy reads his mentions. OK then. But we knew that … right?

Burke asked Steph after the game why he pulled out the airplane celebration.

"You know exactly why," Steph said, with a wry smile on his face.

"Got good mojo going right now," Curry added. "I just needed to give myself an opportunity to pull it out because I didn't do anything to do that in the first half."

Recently on the Dubs Talk podcast, the two-time NBA MVP told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Grant Liffmann and Kendra Andrews that he was more likely to read a tweet from a verified account than the typical accounts that don’t possess the blue checkmark.

He still reads what those keyboard warriors say, of course. He manages even to have a great sense of humor about it.

"I might have like a sick mind. It's pure entertainment for me, to be honest," Curry said on Thursday's episode. "[I] don't take myself too seriously when I play well or when I don't, 'cuz I know it's the same intentions in trying to be great. So, like, when I go read 'em, it's hilarious just how you want to fall off a cliff if I'm 0-for-8 from the 3-point line, or I'm not shooting enough ... or a night like 53 [points against the Denver Nuggets on Monday] in chasin' Wilt [Chamberlain] where I can do no wrong."

Just remember this the next time you see the Warriors running into the locker room before halftime. If you’re really lucky, he’ll read your tweet.

Just be nice about it, folks. People can be terrible online.
