The Kings lost one of their big men with just 11 games remaining in the 2021-22 regular season.

Kings forward Richaun Holmes will miss the remainder of the season for personal reasons, the team announced on Friday.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support during these difficult times,” Holmes said in a statement. “I love this team, I love my teammates and I look forward to returning next year.”

Holmes averaged 10.4 points and seven rebounds in his third season in Sacramento.

“Richaun is a core member of our team, who is very important to our success,” Kings general manager Monte McNair said. “We fully support Rich and look forward to seeing him back on the court for the 2022-23 NBA season.”

No other details were released regarding Holmes’ status.
