Instant AnalysisManager Bob Melvin has Coco Crisp in the lineup again, because he is a switch-hitter. Collin Cowgill is currently on an eight-game hitting streak, but bats from the right side.It is worth noting that Josh Reddick gets the start at DH. Seth Smith will be in right field. He has played five games in right for the A's this season. Top of the OrderJemile Weeks is hitting .300 over his last 15 games. Weeks leads the American League in triples (4) and is tied for the lead with 10 stolen bases. Crisp is 0 for 5 in this series. Melvin is hoping he can snap out of his slump. Middle of the OrderYoenis Cespedes had a double, single, and triple in that order on Thursday night. He ended up 3 for 3, and didn't get a chance to hit for the cycle. He told me after the game last night, that he didn't notice he could have had a chance to hit for the cycle if he batted in the ninth inning. Cespedes has been on a tear since the A's reinstated him from the disabled list. He is hitting .375 with three doubles, a triple, a homer and five RBIs in six games since returning to the A's lineup. Bottom of the OrderBrandon Moss hit his way onto the Oakland A's roster. But he didn't get any hits last night, going 0 for 3. He did play good defense at first base though. Brandon Inge told me after the game last night, that he gave Moss a "man hug" for picking some tough throws from third. With Daric Barton in Triple-A, Moss will need to display his offensive skills soon. The A's haven't been shy about their affinity for Barton, whether the statistics warrant it or not.
