SACRAMENTO -- Reports, rumors, speculation and innuendo. The NBA trade season is in full swing.

The scuttlebutt early on Monday had the Kings, along with the Detroit Pistons, interested in the services of Memphis Grizzlies big man Marc Gasol.

NBC Sports California has confirmed through league sources that the Gasol rumors are incorrect when it comes to Sacramento. The Kings are not interested in the three-time All-Star center at this time.

Gasol, 33, and point guard Mike Conley reportedly are available as Memphis looks to hit the reset button. Both payed under current Kings coach Dave Joerger during his time with the Grizzlies.

The 11-year NBA veteran is having a solid season, posting 15.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 33.7 minutes per game. But the Kings have a glut of bigs, including another former Grizzly, Zach Randolph, who has yet to play a minute for Sacramento this season.

The rumor mill is churning. Sacramento has plenty of cap space, tons of expiring contracts and a few rotational needs. It’s going to be an interesting 10 days in Kingsland leading up to the NBA’s Feb. 7 trade deadline.
