OAKLAND -- With Steph Curry’s return to action on the horizon during the Warriors' upcoming five-game road trip, assistant coach Bruce Fraser said Monday of the guard: "He’s in the best place, minus the injury, that he’s been in his whole career. He’s wiser.”

Curry vaulted himself into the NBA MVP conversation early this season with a 51-point performance and a string of games in which he sank five or more 3-pointers. Including Monday night's home game against the Orlando Magic, Steph will have missed 10 games since injuring his left groin on Nov. 8, but he scrimmaged at shootaround, along with DeMarcus Cousins.

Fraser said “it feels like every year” Curry has had extended absences because of injuries and “he knows the drill.” Even though Curry never has experienced a groin injury before this occurrence, he knows what it takes to rehab, Fraser explained.

Said Fraser: “Mentally, he’s great. He’s ready right now.”
