D-Lee hilariously mocks Wiggins for lack of Kansas pride

It’s not uncommon for NBA locker rooms to be filled with a little trash talk during the month of March as their alma maters compete at the highest level of college hoops.

For the Warriors, it was Draymond Green and Steph Curry going at it for a while when Davidson met Michigan State in the first round of the men’s NCAA tournament.

We also saw Jordan Poole proudly rocking a Michigan jersey in Orlando when the Warriors faced the Magic on March 22.

The school spirit was in the air.

So when Kansas won it all on Monday after an incredible comeback win over North Carolina, the Warriors expected Andrew Wiggins, a Jayhawks alum, to puff out his chest a little on Tuesday morning.

But that wasn’t the case at all.

“That man came in silent,” Damion Lee told reporters on Tuesday. “Like usual. No talking, no nothing. Nothing. I was like ‘Yo Wiggs, Rock Chalk!’ He just looked at me, he didn’t even finish it. I’m done with him. I’m done with him. I’m done with him.”

Other notable Kansas alums didn’t hesitate to publicly show their pride on social media. Paul Pierce, Joel Embiid and Drew Gooden were just a few Jayhawks alums who celebrated the championship on Twitter.

But the silent treatment from Wiggins doesn’t really come as a surprise, given he is one of the more reserved players not just on the Warriors, but in the league.

It could also be that the 6-foot-7 forward is focused on getting back to two-way Wiggs during the final stretch of the regular season, and helping lead the Warriors to a postseason push.

Maybe if the Warriors can pull off a championship this year, we’ll get a reaction out of Wiggins then.
