OAKLAND -- Rich Hill left Sunday's start in the top of the seventh with an unknown injury.

Hill was visited by A's assistant trainer Walt Horn and manager Bob Melvin with one out and a runner on first base against Detroit. After a long meeting on the mound, he walked off the field with Horn. It wasn't apparent what exactly the injury was.

The A's have 11 players on the disabled list, including starter Sonny Gray and right fielder Josh Reddick, and Hill has emerged as one of the American League's top starters this season. Ryan Dull relieved him and finished off the seventh to preserve a 3-2 A's lead heading to the bottom half.

Hill was at 104 pitches.
