Snow, rain and a slow halfpipe did not put a damper on the first-ever Olympic freeski halfpipe competition.

History was made when David Wise won the first-ever gold medal in the halfpipe. The 23-year-old Reno, Nev., native scored a 92.00 on his first run.

Mike Riddle from Canada moved into the silver position after stomping a 90.60 on his second run, while Kevin Rolland from France won bronze with a score of 88.60.
