-- -- Parties are doing greatness and great could see why why you in the Bay Area I'm appear before in my catcher did not want to hear as we did the couple of and not went -- ceremonies which is who called on -- properly so when things have been involved with how we will -- about back in 1993 -- -- so -- about. Stuck with that over the years. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Having these golf tournaments that we had during during that time then and now they would get more involved with -- -- and you know we're going to DC lobbying for money into -- all like on the stuff for the for the foundation just turned you have make a difference -- So in these youngsters come up to hit today do they do they know you from Notre Dame and they the highs men and 87 they know you with the Raiders what do they know today I don't let it is didn't support us playing. Oh yeah I remember you know I don't know they weren't so it appears that stage but it's all good man you know I think gap there. They hear the story in -- sees them the videos that we run. They do a good idea what -- -- -- -- -- do Mike Dillon career 1987 Heisman Trophy winner at notre dandy day I call you the only the -- the first wide receiver to win anywhere when you're far more than that. -- yet -- -- she ran -- to go back to your rookie year in the National Football -- with the LA Raiders you led the league in kickoff returns return yards yards per return tell our fans about you as a rookie when you're caught 43 passes but you're also. -- terrific kick off returner and a punt returner. Yeah I mean it was a very important year for me because. Coming I know they might have been the wishbone offense my senior years so I can play receiver that much you know and neither will we split out. We've broken with -- three point stance so I came -- he -- nor -- I had a lot of learning to I thought I was very talented and one of the things -- so I could do was return punts and -- off because that's something I'd done my whole time since I was twelve years -- a star the purple ball. So that putt was very important to me I would -- James Lofton emerged and had. The group that does Louisville. -- has so he's got that figured. You know I was at times you timlin and -- reported just so happens and everybody got hurt they had to leave the team in receptions that year you have definitely put a -- that. But I think Kevin did look good nose. The guys -- -- is -- They've really taught me how to play in the game and Lou continues throughout closer to. Second year in the NFL unfortunately returning a kickoff for sure so great then you you wind up banging up the knee. Pretty good at when it when he came to the NFL you had 43940. Speed. -- -- so elusive in the open field after after that knee injury your second year -- how much did you have to change to compensate. You know I think I really changed. My game it was really a -- game at that point because physically you know I knew my knee was stable. And I had did everything I could possibly do that tested before the season started to make sure that. But eventually. You -- taken a hit and you don't give them a pile of people would all those kind of things he just didn't know how your mother was -- -- Greg -- -- Soviet bodies though but -- I think after I got a couple -- you know early in the 1990 season I realize OK you know it's time to put the stuff behind you dangle him play this game and in -- it was a tough -- as early Tokyo think only caught eighteen passes. Idea really focus on returning punts and and doing that. 1991 he came back had few more catches and -- make -- a probable that he has a punt returner so so I think at that point I really fellows have I was back and I was -- -- applicable. Yeah you did not return punts for many many years and I flash forward to December the ninth 2001 against the Kansas City Chiefs over the coliseum Raiders had some injuries. In the -- returned apartments -- you went back there to simply fair catch the football. And next thing I know they're goes number you want to eighty yards for a touchdown intimidate you lead the oldest player administrator -- They punt for a touchdown that it next time you're supposed to fair catch that -- to do what -- literally will feel like this woman whom he would do you know during the -- -- -- -- and actually would've happened they -- to they kick the -- about did your kids -- And they were illegally downfield soon. Randy Jordan I remember him and he really Delaware wasn't content. They're tired real nice you look at Syracuse and we will protect you -- run the ball in the of the Britney you let somebody hit me hit. -- the soon I don't think I got to -- do that invading their yards so. I was. -- -- fast but I was sort of scared to -- there would anybody make me down from behind but -- was it was a great time great memory that's for -- and there was generators were the kings -- the AFC west -- -- won the division 20020012002. Went to the Super Bowl you know truly a one Foxboro -- -- called -- the the hockey game around here and what -- the best -- team -- played on one of those three were Jon -- as the culture Art -- Second year in the NFL's thirtieth 1990 -- as -- twelve and forgo all the way to the AFC title game in Buffalo what was the best greater team never play that 1990 must. Toughest -- to to argue against that team. Have been Jackson Marcus Allen honeymoon defense who knows we had -- -- we were in this room probably. At the quarterback position. -- -- Is good. But you know I wasn't playing that much so I'm a little -- forward to 20020012002. And obviously I had a big part of what was happening. But to those teams -- were so so that we had. It was here did that couldn't let him. I think because of the veteran leadership that we head -- myself interior. Rich and the -- guys and defense and the disabled with a. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Oh really was something that I needed and it was a it was a bad here forming you know the organization down there was was -- -- part of you know the gruden that I -- here wasn't a gruden have then that I Soledad and and Tampa. But everything went. Would it. Went haywire so fast here that about a just gone home I think it would it would have worked me I -- mentally I think I would have been object -- so for that part I'm thankful that I had Tampa ahead you know Rickey Dudley and -- going -- -- -- and -- -- -- -- you know everybody was -- generation you know some people that I was her from anywhere you know -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- league. But you know it was it was very -- when we came here to play the game -- clearly -- know what to -- I was you know in the -- locker -- I was -- on the wrong side -- -- you -- coming out here and -- -- boo cheer boo -- the kids know what to do. I would've scored the does that you could see people boy do we collapse. -- -- I look at what completely different routes though. But it was great to to have that moment happen here for the fans that. You know I'd love it and and they love me -- moment. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Even hard Sunday's season. Would be almost impossible but. Certainly did I'm going to always be a part of the greatest because no matter what I say -- do. They really need to -- that pollutants but all the players that I watched it. Interact with dale Davis you were the most. Interest to me because you you would speak out you wouldn't you would sell leave reporters what you thought about the offense you analogy would go back of the -- for long time I think he respected you for that I don't has yet. About the 2009. Interview you gave. It here's a quote we're gonna put them for our audience meeting Al Davis was pretty unique I found out five or ten minutes after my first practiced there. That he hated African American athletes from Notre Dame and they literally told me that and an eagle on -- on here now. Al Davis has been called a lot of things -- a lot of people but no I don't think anybody is ever called him a. They racist image what everybody's saying I have those hello my comments -- honest and never as well that that's something that was told to me but the reason why I was brought up is because -- Someone asked me what was a wag his finger happen with the Raiders when you first got there and I told -- situation because. What I -- learned -- -- and his you know the last thing that you would equate with this guy is you know -- -- -- anything of that nature. I simply thought that it was told to me because they were trying to motivate me. You know because they thought that I was going to be when these guys when you don't come regular money. Take my education and run and and I was mad about that thought I'd never even thought about the other part of it. On it and man I got you know mr. Davis called me also is called -- everybody call me. But -- that I was sort of make clothes you know -- the guys who told me that I think they were trying to to motivate me but let got enormous Davis or. You know 23 years at this point and the last thing coming what he does those players off the field that people would never know about it is something that any other no other. Do you take all the oldest combined than in the league and I don't think any -- doing for the players with what mr. Davis does so you know black white whatever you know so that that wasn't the wasn't supposed to be that they're -- they're one of the conversation. But any time he's a black and white and all this kind of stuff I understand that -- you know to me it was just a comment to. To tell how wacky you know the situation was on the first got there. Glad to clear that up real quick play your numbers are certainly in the at a -- to most people -- appear to -- can't worthy to finish here would have been the perfect time with the Dallas -- your hometown -- how do you react to this now two years all these numbers you're putting up -- -- inappropriate -- -- it's very very. -- is very tough because you know when you when you dedicate your life you know to -- it felt like I did was seventeen years on and off the field. Trying to do all the right things on and off the football field and you have 44 portable guys Vista north. Has targeted the -- you know what they continually can platoon situation where you can go crazy you know so. You know I I. I have to put this in the category where okay it is what it is you know like I said earlier about you know football you know is is what I did it wasn't who I am. I'm gonna have to do the same thing with all the -- the problem there's you know when they have this whole -- -- pitching going he has been involved with -- is involved of that and Billy gets all of our friends and family they get all hyped up about ended it doesn't happen in people a Texan that person the man. Head and cry and you got the whole thing going also did not an oppositional I have to manage. Everybody's emotions you know because of it but but hey -- you know all of my Hall of -- friends are just you know I talked to Jim Kelly of the day he was like -- I cannot believe this. You know and I he says he's talked to our reporters and I mean some of the voters about that but you know some kinda way they don't have to break this tie between Andre Chris and myself. I am more than willing to take my name -- -- what you guys are doing and you know it's just ridiculous you know guy like Andre who do did so much Chris and myself and for them too literally disrespect as a way they do it's not true but it is is -- this -- have to live with the. He's on the NF -- NFL's all decade team for the 1990s I think there's reason not to be at all here's a college football hall of Famer and I'm I'm pretty sure one day he'll make an encampment as well touchdown to make a decision to that.
