-- welcomed by Giants righthander Matt Cain out from Mesa, Arizona. Matt thank you for joining the hot stove and I'm sure you into the question a million times in the offseason how does a World Series change your life but you gotta more significant life changing moment in the off season. You brought a baby into the world or Chelsea your wife did what's that been like for. And crazy. You know it and it's been fun but you know it definitely better. You know I don't know look forward to panic and and freaked out but I think it I think it definitely helped us felt. You know all the all the to grow together -- -- It's been amazing I think there's there's definitely been so many more great times and and bad but it definitely been a huge huge learning experience and problems you know something that. You you definitely -- motto live about. -- it's something -- and you're not somebody that's ever sought out the spotlight when you win a World Series there's a lot of demands on your time you can have a built in excuse down hard. Yeah pretty much you know now now you're you're wishing that you could maybe get a little more. You know that that was part of being a parent is. Alerted us to give up a lot of the things that he used to be able to do it can stay in the moment and taking care of the little. Came out of wanted to ask you kind of a silly question before getting the serious baseball stuff. You're -- road during the postseason kind of took on a putt from its own somebody's put her -- that all -- here pro do you still get -- Larkin. And I had to hear it and it -- something that I would enable us. They look a lot during the season. I can't say who but I would definitely geared it a lot started so. Other week after we got back from the from the the World Series and a parade everything went ahead and talk and often and definitely felt about you know. Her four years younger so that kind of your version of the hockey playoff beard the Kane broke -- -- -- -- -- -- whether pro or pro year. They now because you won the World Series he played an extra month of baseball here offseason is shortened considerably. How's that affected you know had you not made the playoffs you might have started you're strong program about won a World Series started -- -- been like kind of shortening everything for. This is real and it can't all. I've been lucky so part of the elements are always in January. You know that might start -- of the -- I think it's you know piling up and getting this stuff but. I really did get -- that they I think it just took off typical November though. We'll work it out doing little -- here and there and then December kicked it again. You know on January now started out more but I think the biggest thing was really just trying to think November. All and try to relax as much as possible then. Whereas in the years past you're you're really taken Beckett and. Now what witnesses. Shortened offseason live it up front office also got a shortened offseason -- and had a lot of time to make moves didn't feel like they had to make too many like break out. World Series championship team how much attention did you make. To what Brian and his crew is doing. They you know huge huge amount of attention to it and trying to relax from all. But you know -- -- -- -- -- signed. In overall and podium and guys back that we that we definitely needed to win. You know with the addition of you know what -- the -- -- that LP I think everything's going to be you know everything every all of altogether and I think it's going to be deftly as an exciting -- a year last year we'll. No -- you were at your absolute best in the postseason. In 2000 intend to the tune of zero earned runs throughout the playoffs. How do you improve on that given the short off season and what do you feel like you need to go to camp back and work on or you reached the point where it's just maintaining the success -- leveraged. And ought to put something that you can. You -- work on every year you know what about becoming this spring you know maybe a little bit you know better arm strength somebody's. You know my big thing is to maybe get outside long -- -- bit more you know they would figure. Or take advantage of the weather out here in Arizona and and Garland you know get some good good long talk. You know -- that you with a little bit. You know better than our -- that to be able to carry me. You know -- that into the long season and into the later the games specialist who is disputed last. -- speaking to a degree weather there in Arizona. I understand you've got some golf on your calendar coming -- talked about that. Yeah I'll do you have to be pretty but I think we hit it -- that would be -- -- -- decapitated -- play in the she's got to get the niners. -- and then you know got lucky and and get invited to the pro am a double -- agents. You know at spyglass and so I think. We we were we debate what do you do learn. You know and then decided it was a pretty equal opportunity maybe once a lifetime -- so. Try to take advantage of -- written. Upon. You know but I have a Derrick. You know there nobody minds that they care and -- the bag for me and and hopefully -- real but right. And hopefully he can get the crowd barn apple way to where you don't hit somebody in the -- when your first to shut up one at Pebble Beach. And I'll let let all of the other day when we were out as a did you get that you can get left -- with -- that the first -- I'm definitely we have dozens. Turn it as far as possible you have to give it a three wood is gonna give it took me to. But came -- I gotta ask you about though that showtime the proposed showtime. Reality show for you guys on the San Francisco Giants -- you try to defend your championship I know that nothing is official quite yet but what are your general thoughts on maybe haven't. Camera crews quality guys around for the year. I think of the guys you know it it's definitely one of those things where you know you get nervous that. You know -- turning into into a little bit of a circus or what but. Garcia was so proposal this guy got thoughts words and I think that the idea this so this is so I'm looking. Look at that promote as I think it's going to be good for the -- -- -- going to be good for a lot of to be able to got to get our names up there a little bit more in you know really showcases the not political front office as well as sort of players and on our everyday life that I think that that the coolest thing there they're trying to do is really just got to show. So little bit about everyday life baseball is -- side you know what guys go through it and alien in situations like that so. But it sounds like it's gonna be a pretty equal opportunity and we're actually looking looking forward to it. There's certainly no shortage of interesting characters on the San Francisco giant smacking a one of them thank you so much free time on a hot stove show. -- good right take care.
