I think you very much got happy to figure if Philadelphia and -- -- raid didn't hear the easiest and Philly Eagles insider and an NFL Hall of Fame writer ray. You cover the Eagles a lot of time got to know Brian Westbrook pretty well and what kind of player can that's ever sisco 49ers expect to see do you think down the stretch out of Brian Westbrook. Well assuming that Brian has. And -- gas left in the tank he certainly looked like at the other night. They can expect as good an all around back. As you're gonna find I mean in my view and like I've gone back I wrote the Eagles encyclopedia I mean I've I've been through the history this team. I think he's the second best back in history this franchise I think the only one that put ahead of them is Steve van Buren the great back in the 1940s is in the Hall of Fame. Other than that and that's a really good when your Wilbert Montgomery Ricky waters to the ground I think Brian Westbrook was better than all of them. As being an all around back runner receiver blocker there's nothing that he can't. Do you know one of the big things that Frank Gore brought this team was his ability to contribute in pass protection how. Brian in that area and that's especially going to be important this way because they're taking another green bay Packers and Clay Matthews. Brian Westbrook was. As good a pass blocker pass protector blitz picker upper. As there was in the NFL during his years with the Eagles and I always thought that was the most underrated aspect of his game. I mean his running was obvious is receiving skills were very obvious but what people didn't see unless they looked at the film -- shown replays. -- was what a tremendous pass protector he was first in terms of being able to recognize the blitz was coming from. Seeing where it's coming from picking up the right guy and then following through on the block I mean people think that he's a small guy but he's not a small guy he sure. He's not small and he's not afraid to step up and block in terms of technique and in terms of understanding the whole passing game and his role in protection. He's as good as there is an NFL believe me he was a big big part of the eagles' success in that area blocking as well receiving. Let me ask you this are you surprised at how little he was here. Used by the 49ers prior to Monday night. I really didn't quite know how much Brian still had left. And when he went there Willie when he finished up at the Eagles last year. As much the people here love them and will always love -- but the feeling was that. If Brian had. Just didn't have a lot left. And so when he went to San Francisco I think we all kind of thought that you have a spot role play a little here a little there I was kind of surprised that he didn't play a little more. I didn't really expect him to have a big role obviously Frank Gore is the main guy but I thought Brian would work in there more as a change of pace type a player. But I think when you saw the other night in Arizona. Was. I don't know that he could have done that throughout a whole season over sixteen games at this point in his career. But. Given the opportunity a couple of games. He's still Brian Westbrook he's still really special player now can he sustain that over a full month -- play that well. To take up the slack for Frank Gore and get the 49ers back in a race I don't know but I think. He's got enough saved right now and certainly showed the other night. That the old skills -- ability that ability to take has taken a nothing play and turn it into something like that's still there. Well Brett appreciate the time and I'll look forward to this in more for you are serious and Philly dot com. Well thank you very much always a pleasure.
