"If I had my choice of first & second half, I'd take second half."
Transcript
They kings are brilliant on the start the year here is Paul Westphal. Well I had my choice between first and second apple takes second half but. That was goes really exciting game among so so happy for our guys the effort they gave everybody that the plate. You know sometimes. Guy like Darnell Jackson who played great and you get in the game the second half and a because the nature of our team we just we just don't care who does that we try to find somebody to do the job and and these guys are embracing that and and and giving us. Tough play for forty minutes it is discouraging to get behind in. We wanna stop that practice -- Oh look I love the tenacity -- team in the way the they find a way to win so. I was on opening night looking forward to a lot more volatile about more games were just buildings rocking. -- Yeah. Well we we have a lot of depth this year and a lot of lot of guys there are fighting. Stay out on the floor and you know you don't wanna have to come back but it is nice to know when you can come back. It's. Brilliant. Okay. OK. Okay. Well certainly have certainly we wouldn't want either one of these last two games without Sam he says he's a veteran. Smart player who's. Got great defensive instincts and you know he's fourteen rebounds tonight -- 922 minutes and and he's he's he's just an Energizer for the guys like playing with him he he brings a lot and then we've got. We've got two real good senators I mean I don't think you could find. A young center to play any better than to Marcus didn't fourth quarter you know sometimes is a hard time figuring out. How much energy to use and and and situations. Or new to him but. He's he's won these and a smart player and a clutch player and have those two guys playing senator really really gives us. But the nice options. -- -- -- -- He enjoyed those in the the fans -- to a total totally he's. Always a competitor and he. He's not afraid of any situation and and dislike -- like any strength. It can be a weakness sometimes but he's he's learning how all how to pick his spots and you know that. Always a guy you want in the trenches with you because he's. He's he's definitely focused on. I'm competing. I have to say something about -- to you know just. The way stepped up and knock those free throws down and then just played a solid solid game in every way and Luther Head came off the bench and gave us some big minutes Jason Thompson and Darnell Jackson Tyreke he can start the second half as his stomach upset. And weren't sure he was gonna -- come back and once he he came back. Could take him out of the game he he he really make some big place or so is just. One of those nights where. Things things didn't work until he did in we found a way to win. Breaking news. We're fine. Always had a talk for the game -- -- -- stopped trying to get assists to just play you know I think that he. If he -- thinks a place sometimes. He loses his aggressiveness and he's he's a he's a very unselfish player and excellent passer and he'll always pass from Arsenal and man. But if you -- planet sometimes you lose your aggressiveness or I think when he's aggressive that is that's going to best passer too so. That's what happened with him. And on. The reliever out. Well do you -- he knew these guys he he really played a lot for the last year he helped us. You know he's he's very plays pro. Arnaud doesn't say just just in general. The defense was fantastic. You know horrible first half when -- -- making shots to even makes it worse but. We weren't down in the stands ready to play we got beat in transition guys running out were taken a couple -- for a sprinted back and in the second half all that went away you know we we really played defense the way that that we need to play 48 minutes and the guys gave themselves a way to show they can do it. It. Yeah down hello and we we have put Jason and Darnell and -- they. That they really brought us back. And gave us a great second quarter after the first quarter was very lethargic. And they both bring a lot of energy and both of those players deserve more playing time that which is a great luxury for a coach to have you know we have. Lot of bigs fighting for the fighting for minutes four and five in and they all deserve more they can't have more so when they get it they go out there and and and and really. Really play aggressively. -- Isn't this paradox of the NBA when you're the aggressor you were. You tend to not get files. When you're out there tiptoeing around trying not to get felt that's -- you get them and he he he just has to learn the tempo of the game and how to play hard in the fourth quarter always thinks about is winning the games are worried about files and he shows his quickness he shows the aggressiveness and he doesn't it felt so. We'll get a little time we played four games.
