Send it out to Matt Mayo or forty niners insider who is lives for us at the team's headquarters in Santa Clara -- you. Took part not to press conference -- with head coach Mike Singletary want -- answer instant reaction. Do you think he's at all satisfied at least with the wind or maybe the direction now that things are finally going. Well I. I think a win. Is a great deodorant I mean it if if they lose the game then of course if you -- -- they're not to be feeling -- Gado and six. But it victories of victory in the NFL and and we've seen through the forty -- first five games of the season they played pretty well and some losses that's. That gets us nowhere in the standings are just to get the wind at this point they can build upon bad and that's what they hope to do. Starting Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Smith at least saying that it was a bit of a learning experience for him in making some. Smart decisions in terms of you know when to throw balls away when he didn't have the option. How much it is Mike Singletary still a believer in Alex Smith obviously he's got the option to David Carr hasn't really gone with it yet. I mean he's he's still fully invested and Alex Smith as much as it looks like he has. Yeah I don't think there's any question are these two were really tight at the -- through this season. And I asked Mike Singletary during the press conference did you ever start thinking about. Telling David Carter star warming up that there was a point there in the third quarter where the fans started grumbling you heard some blues there's a smattering of we want -- chance. It through that all. Mike Singletary went Alex Smith on the sideline and said keep your head and it. You know stay patient. You're doing fine in turn this thing around and that's what he did over -- at the forty hours lowest points. Win when Alex Smith and Joe Staley still had a little bit on the sidelines are very good friends -- there challenging each other they both said. -- lowest point they went back out there and put together a very impressive drive. That was the first touchdown of the game and really the only points. That the 49ers needed to pull out the victory. What does David Carr say about all this I mean obviously he must be hearing that stand chant in their request to have him in the game it. Is he staying classy what is he saying about that situation. -- David Carr has has experienced this from both sides and he knows what it's like to be. The other Doug the most disliked guy in town which is obviously the quarterback of the losing team. Now he knows what it's like to be the most popular guy in town that's the number two quarterback. Of the losing team but the part of the reason the forty hours when outing got this guys because they knew that he would handle it the right way. That if he didn't get off the sideline that he would it be the kind of guy locker room politician so. They knew what they are getting when they got him. If he's stayed true to that. Alex Smith said that he's -- deal fills a lot of support from David Carr it's not like David cars trying to undermine him in and try to get on the field. In fact last Sunday night David Carr went out on the field and Alex Smith came out to replace him before David Carr even took a snap David Carr. Just want to the sideline grab the clipboard to -- helmet off and and resume his duties as the number two quarterback. That'd seem like as yesterday's game went along the forty niner defense really tightened the clamp. On Jason Campbell and on the Raiders one of the guys defensively been saying yesterday after the game and also maybe today if you have a chance to talk to them. How did they do that. Well and I think they played it really -- defense they've they've played they -- aggressive now they were some of those plays -- the Raiders designed specifically. To get the 49ers took -- reactivated. And then beat him deep we saw that on the flea flicker but they'll 49ers they waited to this season. Believing that. Their defense was gonna win a lot of games for them that they were gonna be one of the top. You'll -- defense is in the NFL some guys even said we're gonna be the number one defense in the NFL so they have an Adam. -- left front sevens pretty good at the linebacker course playing well the defense of line up is playing a very well us as as well so. I think that's what the 49ers expected to happen against that team that's really not a powerful offense like the Raiders and playing at home. Now itself look ahead and move forward towards the Carolina game 49ers taken on a team that's winless at the bottom of their division oh and five but. There is always something dangerous about a team it's a went five and especially a team which has -- will talk about later is also changing their quarterbacks there's always that honeymoon period of a team that. Is your soul like I said dangerous because they're so hungry. Yeah I mean as did the 49ers know what it's like to deal winless teams so. Then there's not gonna be any looking past the Carolina Panthers forty hours have struggled. On the road they've struggled in these 10 AM Pacific starting times. They're going to Carolina -- -- Matt Morris at cornerback. -- you know it's taken this game for granted I mean the 49ers have had a difficult time putting games back to back. So this is a big stretch for them. They -- they got their one win. The team president and CEO Jed York is is guaranteed that the team's gonna win a division title well. You at this point one game winning streaks are not gonna cut it. Alex Smith has talked about being shortsighted that you can't look beyond that the upcoming game and that's exactly with the 49ers are trying to do. They won't get into a routine this week there -- their practices will be early in the day with the idea of having their their. Their body clock suggest that East Coast time so we'll see on Sunday if they come out of play well. That the once comic -- saw coach singletary is cracked a smile on this press conference was enough. That things like the fridge I got brought up the what did you think about that story and it was a good to see -- actually cracked a smile there. Yet there haven't been a whole lot of -- Miles from Mike Singletary the past month or so. But it there was an interesting situation of course Isaac Sopoaga lined up at fullback not 330 pound fullback and when you watched that yesterday -- what he plowed into to Trevor Scott really he'll open up author -- hole for Frank Gore to pick up that first down. So when you -- that -- the first thing got -- was died McEntire and Willie refrigerator Perry mavs a course sort of in body debt 49ers Bears rivalry. Of the mid eighties where that the Bill Walsh unveiled the leaves the Angus backfield of a guy MacIntyre and the next year Dickey came back with. Refrigerator Perry and another. Guy MacIntyre is also has said through the years. That he should have received some of those residuals from William refrigerator Perry all that all the endorsements that came from that that but it's early -- but it took his back. In time to to a great time when that when the Bears in the forty after rivals. And it was Mike Singletary is idea he said he broach the subject earlier this season. With -- offensive coordinator Jimmy ray of Isaac Sopoaga very athletic. Defense of linemen let's give him on the field and really. Create a big body who can move people backed off the pile for those. Those short yardage situations. Bad as always we thank you for the inside and on the record I loved jacket preseason. When -- at the very classic up at Santa Clara thanks much for your time. Thank you brought it.
