My first day. As the San Jose shark. And markers they Q. You're prepared to open up a brand new -- of the matter who was at that time noticed San Jose arena. And we had the privilege evil and that. And having some events here and having their first game against Chicago. And it's been a wonderful seventeen years it's just hard for me to believe that is -- quickly. And then in 1996. My boss a wonderful guy who'd just passed we're recently ourselves. Decided to move on. And -- gonna ask you want to be president and I sit and think about yes. He and we started in as president and CEO in the community six. Then again as an outstanding. Outstanding right attire -- A special time for me that. To be a part of this organization to keep hearing -- the growth of the arena to see what happens in. In San Jose to see you go through these place in the rule that this arena was meant to play and those and does -- bring people here. And I do I just him I'm here is a couple things -- more and I'm incredibly proud of this franchise. I'm incredibly proud of how people have come together to make it -- sexual -- successful place to work. I'm proud of the fact that we have first of all wonderful ownership group a group that cares greatly about the franchise about it growth. About the about the fact that it was to be successful book on this ice not the guys I can remember the press conference we announced that in 2002. -- right here in this room -- standing about here. Talking about the fact it was new ownership -- -- -- I also think that incredible management group we have. I think about the people executive management level of Doug Wilson's. The welcome board lumps the -- garnered. Don't grow only Charlie fox. And Mike leader those people who helped make this franchise work and I think about. The staff itself an unbelievable stuff -- stuff to work hardest step is willing to work together. Staff who's willing to laugh together which I like I can go very long -- laughing or smiling or be happy about something and I think about. The travels. And then I would order it did today it around 1130 and some time with the players. I think what an incredible group of players we have had a group of players that is that is connected into the city more more than it -- understand what this is about what's terribly short talk is about. And the fact that people have an affinity for these players. I'm I'm extremely pleased. That this group has come together for the cure things going to be an exciting here I think it's a great time and that's why we're here to announce that it's a great time for me. 22. Step or step away from the in this field and run the franchise. To -- for me to support him. And think about doing some other things and in regards to taking some time. I look forward slowing down a little bit. And I look forward to while watching Sharks hockey -- we were I look forward to the success that -- we're gonna have this year but I also am excited about. Just. Taken some time to think -- think about what's gonna go home for the rest of my life. Thirty years. Sport seventeen years with the San Jose Sharks here fourteen years president at the center there's been a great run now it's time to have some -- step forward. In the interim. Process. You'll see. In regards to hockey within hockey questions don't Russell -- personally speaking for the French artists -- Garcia that if we have any business questions Malcolm born Lauren was very easy because this will be the first to talk to -- answering any questions concerning business. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Have to do a great job of book in the building I'm excited about what has happened in the ice in his in the amount of people that are playing hockey. In this nontraditional. Hockey market. Which I think has become pretty strong traditional market do you think about what's going on this. Sharks host the San Jose with four rinks what's happening to a 31. What's happened to -- through an Oakland it's an exciting time to see this -- people playing hockey wanting to play hockey players getting drafted into the NHL from this area so. I believe we're really good spot. I really believe he's a great time to another step in them and take it and run and so that's what we're here to talk about today that's what I'm here to announce. I am so bullish on this franchise. I'm still bullish on the people that I get to work with and so bullish on the people that will help take it over and and continue to run it that is and always a positive thing it's an exciting thing I'm looking forward to. Thinking and concentrating on some other things to maybe take some time there's a few books that I really need to read. There's some things that I need to do personally. I will say anything in anticipation of potential question my health is really good. I don't -- great series. Okay I'm going to do that now but might help -- -- So I if you need to ask that when that's when that I'm really okay anyway so without. Without belabor any points without being overly effusive I just want to know that. We care and we're we're we have had an enjoyable a wonderful time here one I think that does need to be -- as I still be serving as the governor. On the board of governors for the the NHL. And I'm still on the ten man NHL executive committee and I will continue to serve there are probably took a role as a as a present the Sharks foundation and many you know me on the -- our -- very near and dear to my heart and we have wanted to board -- -- money there's a part of that and then I still -- an owner so I'm still very much a part of it. I'm just no longer that day to day in the daily activities in running franchise.
