Thanks to log on to CSN California dot com Brodie Brazil here alongside the radio voice of the San Jose Sharks stand -- now I'm ready. Always good to CA especially in the summertime and eight. The Sharks make any huge moves on draft day acquiring. Defenseman Brent Burns from Minnesota Wild it's a pretty good deal it seems like the San Jose Sharks although all three point eight million dollars one year -- the contract to ration. It tying Brent Burns up for the long term is probably a huge priority for the San Jose Sharks. -- -- priority number one I really would have one other thing about it is that I have no no qualms about the Sharks having any problems they're gonna sign Brent Burns. Too long term contract he's a great player really excited about. I've seen -- structure reform because he's such a great skater he's got size he could shoot scored seventeen goals last year. And if my math is correct he had more points than -- said -- five more five more points so this is a guy that's never played with a set of forwards like he's going to play with in San Jose I'm really excited about seeing how he can. -- use all of the skills he's already shown in the NHL. To get that next level and help the Sharks get closer to becoming Stanley Cup champion and I love his attitude to talk but -- People like Dan Boyle I'm learning from him. And that learning so much about being with a winning organization I just think it's a great overall ironic thing to Byrnes actually. Is a converted -- he hasn't always been a blue liner but this certainly is now was an all star and -- very important to note. That his coaches in Houston the American Hockey League when he really did all the work to make that transition happened to be Todd McLellan. And Matt -- they both were part of that tutelage that that he underwent when Jacques -- Baird decided that this kid had all the skills to be defenseman so. -- that's great news because he's comfortable here. And he's excited to be here. -- dissented -- trade does leave a hole for the sanity sharp specifically. On the top lines and others a choice of maybe who play alongside Joseph Thornton Patrick Marleau. Will it be Logan ensure the center and bumped up to the first line but to play a win or will be battling till the Belsky or. Somebody else before I get -- that I do want to say that it's tough to see a guy like. Kevin said -- you can go great popular -- really fine young man and somebody that's gonna have a long career in the league. And he along with Charlie Coyle and a first round draft pick is an expensive price to pay. But today that's what it cost to get a defenseman. That changes everything for Todd McLellan I Hughes said Brody because of the top six forwards and all indications are that open tells -- center -- the so called third line. This past season was probably the best third line center hockey relaxed here. Will return. I have to the top six group. The question is does he wanna be inserted into the setter position in these so called second wind to Danny heatley Ryan cloaked. Or does he move up with Joseph Thornton and Patrick Marleau word is Logan -- fit into that mix as well. I've got a feeling if they're gonna start or at least try to -- will be secured the top with the big guys to begin the campaign. Because what -- he has worked really well with with -- before. And I think that that really would work out quite well in Danny heatley and other deliberately offensive player might have some good chemistry but the time will tell it's all about what happens in training camp with how these guys work well. Tell you this the division this year the Pacific divisions -- look a little bit different LA already making some moves in Phoenix. A huge loss for them and their goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov now that signing with the Philadelphia fly. -- been interesting couple of days in the NHL what Christian air Rockets traded to the New York Islanders for negotiating rights for a few days so they cannot pick up a draft pick but it became apparent he wasn't gonna get signed. I'm the LA kings side I get Mike Richards of the big deal with Philadelphia as the flyers made the trade. To get freestyle -- they had to clear off the cap space they've moved. So they're really promising young players Jeff Carter and Mike Richards -- the captain by the way I to greener pastures I think Richard is gonna do a great job for Los Angeles and he's really strengthen their team and let's not forget that -- -- open -- with that serious injury last year. Is the number one setter but it's not certain how long it's gonna take for him to really recover. I know from experience and seeing -- color commentator Jamie baker go through similar injury you route for six months. The type of injury that corporate tar hat and then it takes a while to get back to speed recover. And act react to all of the medical problems you've had so that acquisition of Richards really helps the kings thank overturn injury. Was nasty ankles and terrorist twister in the way that he's did all right but lastly there's the free agency window opening and 9 o'clock AM I think Pacific time on July 1. A huge move for the San Jose Sharks wanna be. Resigning one of their own defenseman Ian White recent article on NH LP -- dot com actually. Suggesting that white has already done something it almost is like a foregone conclusion that he's going to stay in San Jose but there. Let's just assume that we don't know anything right now because we really don't. Ian White would be a nice returning player for the San Jose Sharks anybody else you can think of you'd like to see be announced the San Jose shark on July 1. What they're a lot of great free agents but I I think that the biggest free agent signing of the San Jose Sharks could make is similar to one that they've had in seasons past you know you go through -- situation. I'm where you have a free agency periods from July won the July 10 and there's all this big splash about teams spending tons of money and -- getting people to come to your team. I don't the Sharks are at that point right now necessarily. If they get Ian White that's that's really a real bonus to their entire game plan what I'm referring to is a couple of years ago they had a big free agent signing name Joseph Thornton -- they traded for him -- had -- -- was going to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. They renegotiated his contract so in my mind the biggest free agent signing the San Jose Sharks can make right now Brody is to. Get Brent Burns are really locked into long term contract if they can get Ian White to come back and if they can work that in their salary structure that's a huge bonus. Dan always good to see it can I just say that I've -- miss seeing you on a regular -- -- -- mean we've got a lot of great deals on the road it. I don't we've seen a lot of interest in sites they usually in the bottom of an arena somewhere afsane.
