We hope to make this announcement passenger. Are baseball season had ended in order to minimize any distractions. For the baseball team or for the fans -- for the front office. As the team announced last evening it's my intention to. Retire as the managing general partner the Giants effective the end of the house here to separate one. I know. The good news is though He succeeded by no and other than Larry -- in the cornerstone of this franchise. You know for twenty years. Or so. I will continue to serve its -- in the capacity of chairman emeritus for 2012 and perhaps beyond price for a year. My responsibilities. As the -- -- include. Be available for advice to senior management and a whole range of strategic subjects and to continue to be. Part of the Giants delegation -- baseball and to be active enough diversity in their national committee meeting of Major League Baseball. And to find ways to be useful -- listening post an advocate for the Giants. Forest on brought the Giants side here my dad bought me ten shares. Of the national. Exhibition corporation so I've -- investor in the Giants since 1958. I challenge anybody in the room to be that longevity obviously. Nobody as a kid in -- -- Or as an investor in 1994 could have expected that there might be the opportunity to come to the Helm. Of this organization. And when I was given an opportunity. Back in 1997. I took it seriously. And agreed to step in and do what I could. It's been more than it currently has been an honor to be at the -- this venerable. Storied franchise the Giants when -- agree franchise in professional sports. When I agreed to. Put aside some of the responsibilities to have time to devote. As the CEO Giants. I realized pretty early on. That there were a number -- which were critical. The Giants and those two objectives. We have largely achieved over the last three and a half for four years and it's not my credit the credit of the people we just met with -- upstairs. Who has a group have. Made all this work we were coming off of for losing seasons. We wanted to play winning baseball. And get the Giants back to being competitive. And build on that. And get them back to be contending so they were kind of team the Giants oddity. Where the fans in the community the players and coaches and everybody could expect that year in and year out. We be in the hunt we got a chance to you know the post season so winning baseball. Within the top of the list getting back to winning he's been winning. We also wanted to increase. Our attendance. And our revenues from all sources. We're a point now where we have a very powerful momentum. In that direction as you know. We wanted to increase the value of the enterprise that is the jobless you know what we're about union prize for the investors. And we have accomplished that. We wanted to find a way to bring more professional management systems. Into. The front office so we could be more efficient and more productive. And thanks to the great group of people in the front office. We have accomplished that. We wanted to integrate baseball with the rest of the enterprise we needed to learn more about baseball so we can be more useful. And supported me get them the resources they needed to win games between the same time we have benefited enormously from Brian. They can -- other people brought their intelligence. Into our management of the front office so it's been very. Synergistic. Integration of baseball with the rest of the -- and that is not common. In -- baseball or indeed in professional sports. And of course most of all we want it to win it all and we managed to achieve that last year. Thanks to the worst of the baseball people with the support of the front office as Bud Selig reminded me in a recent conversation -- a time to come. Into an organization -- a title even organization and having accomplished. As much as this group has. Around those objectives. This is. -- a good time for me to lead the organization. As the Chief Executive Officer. I will continue as I mentioned to serve as chairman matters for the next year at least. I -- gonna buy season tickets get the best available tickets from Stanley. And expect they'll be down in the investor precincts. Continuing to root on the Giants. In short. This. This franchise. Is stronger than ever. In terms of the prospects for contending baseball. In terms of reproductive -- patient. Meritocracy. -- colleagues in workers in the front office. So it's a little like the mountaineers -- -- like coming to a campsite leaving it better that you found. If you compare where we were. 2007 and eight where we are today 2011. This group of colleagues of Larry's and mine. Have pushed -- -- Europe positive trajectory. There's every reason to believe that we will continue to. Accelerate. Up that positive. Trajectory. We have managed I think over the last four years to. Reenergize our fan base. You seen the numbers. As we said to ourselves that management committee that He meetings monthly. If we're playing good baseball. A lot of other good things can happen. For not playing good baseball it's hard and other things. And you -- talked about it being in the baseball. Is -- the entertainment business. Information business that education business. Community service business customer service business Worrell and all those lines of business and this group of folks has excelled. In moving forward and all of those lines of business and there's no reason assess it expect it. Anything but. More of those great effort will result in more achievements. In this franchise will become even more admirable. And effective and winning franchises go forward -- we've also I think we connected with broad community. You were there last year as Brian said to me and the reviewing stand as they had -- day. In Rome -- for the day 300000 people try to get. He said to be built these players and coaches for the first time understand what kind of a community cares about what they do. And I think has brought community millions of people from California. Likes the Giants and likes what we do and how do. So thank you again for being here and for the support you've given us over the last several years.
