Coming out coming back game ready talk 49ers training camp it is Friday before their afternoon practice we have just had a chance to hear from cornerback Carlos Rogers first time we met him. Very well spoken guy. And like a lot of players He comes the 49ers -- is looking for a fresh start. He really wanted to do something new one an entire -- new change of scenery He needs to the one thing that struck him most was a work ethic here and how harder -- where He seems. -- commenting yeah well first thing. Carlos Rogers won the good guy award from the from the Washington -- you know salary so yes I'm looking forward to covering him this year. Yeah I mean I think he's is looking for a fresh start a lot of these guys are. If he's he's an an interesting situation He came into the league as a top ten pick and so. He's been with the team that drafted him. Four was in six years six years so everything he's done in Washington has been Carlos Rogers Carlos Rogers Carlos Rogers. Now He can see the 49ers -- the forgotten guy a little bit. When you look at the free agent market non -- awesome -- Johnathan Joseph Ike Taylor Antonio Cromartie. All these guys. Where the people in these those were the quarterbacks and everybody look at an -- who's gonna get these guys. Carlos Rogers slips through the cracks and has a chance or He will be a starter here He has a chance to. To for the first time I really do stuff under the radar. And even though this is a new start for him it's not all too unfamiliar. This defense is that really the same defense that it was right in Washington He played in last year the terminology obviously. Very different that's very hard and then this season He noticed right away that 49ers only -- at the end and also be plain and C east. The teams Tennessee so those are all teams he's familiar with -- not bode well for him. Yeah He should because He doesn't feel that the film study won't be new stuff and he'll be familiar with but all those guys so. Whenever He falls in love with the quarterback to be that third guy at a better time guided the foreigners we'll go outing Gideon and there's nobody on that market right now as a ref reason why I can and see some referees there I said our entire career there -- -- So you know I don't I don't know where I heard about getting ahead of the new rules -- point here. Guys like that Mark Bolger and there's lots of my -- -- What free agent quarterbacks that. The guys who wanna start they don't wanna come here because Alex Smith has a headstart in the corners are also. -- invested in -- happening now there's one guy out there. That he's not a free agent. But I know He lost to be here. That's Josh Johnson. Who played for Harbaugh and university San Diego now back at the Tampa Bay -- in the and it's a good situation coming here for Josh Johnson because He wouldn't be starting immediately He would need to really be competing for the starting job immediately. But He has that He would have a chance here. -- He has a better chance of eventually becoming a starter here than He does intimidate behind Josh Freeman. Who -- a number one pick here in the future is seen but one of the reasons you players. Veteran guys don't like coming here is because they see -- Capra can collect governing Kissimmee given every opportunity down the road to be a starter. But Josh Johnson could come in here and worked his way into a pretty good situation so it gives them Tampa Bay Buccaneers at some time decide.
