Happy to welcome in two time Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon and -- Dan thanks for the time first things first only eighteen men can say that they want the greatest spectacle in racing. More than once what does it mean to be a part of that illustrious group. It's very very special for me -- and I certainly. Then this almost was more emotional than perhaps the loss fun and I think Q what makes it even more special is the fact -- is a hundredth anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 so. Now is a very very proud day for me this is contract killing my Tony Reiss of the season. Up to this point we're not sure that I'm going to be evidence do anymore. But it's you know that that makes that makes it a little more satisfying setting to be able to -- that but that's it that much of Penske seemed Chip Ganassi same. Is so nice is truly a great day for everybody at Bryant had orders well. And some ways is it poetic justice that you take the victory away from the guy. Who took your spot on panther racing I -- you don't wish any ill towards Jaron brown but the way it worked out. That's a little bit of poetic justice that maybe now. -- -- do you guys I mean for me I'm just. Focused on on my thing and you know it's unfortunate the -- get up in the bank and it defense but it -- and I I can say that. I've not had some some misfortune into it they can mean the Indianapolis 500 in 2006. For the for the most out of the rice and I'm picking up the fat side towards the end but it's -- this this place can bite you now better than anybody it -- -- it's an intense track. It definitely goes down Zdeno along groove racetrack who won on the hop greats and if you get up and -- very hot to get the cup back sellout. Enough -- me I just had to concentrate on avoiding him. And that -- -- didn't come across the track and and that collect money but then once not once I saw it kind of pancake the side and was just gonna follow the worn down. I was having to get by and not you know across -- got. Breaks I know there was some time that elapsed brewed between -- across in the yard breaks. And big that going to an official review what were those when it's like for you before you got the word that it was official. No I've I was always pretty confident I am you know it's always nice to see -- there and -- and just make sure of that I knew pretty much went out Boston that the -- night was still on night. -- there's been some controversy about that the past and -- my child was looking so I was you know one of those things guys I really wasn't -- lied about all concerned about. The did that the mind thing for me was making sure that you know I just got to -- to the line you can you can basically focused very quickly around and and I -- what happened to Jarrett can bite you so until you cross I got -- breaks for the checkered flags waving you -- in maintain maximum concentration. Well congratulations for taken -- I wanna ask -- real quick. What was the atmosphere like out at the -- today because by all accounts this might have been the greatest Indy 500 since the IRL cart split. Back in the mid ninety's. Yeah it was unbelievable it has been -- month the fan attendance even we've been interrupted with you know a lot of bad weather leading into the rice. And then the fans were still out. You know it was a it was a very very impressive but today I think you can -- offense in the background doing a pilot got body. But it's it's it it was down. You know I was in a very packed house I think the rice that we put on was. Was pretty intense and very very competitive.
