Matt may have done many bucks here Paul Brown Stadium is the 49ers just wrap up their thirteen to eight victory over the Bengals what they're only their. It out of conference wins since 2003 and we call this one the -- all eleven consecutive punts by both teams. After that opening field goal by the Bengals to really it was all about the second half adjustments 49ers made. Yeah I'd call it the best thirteen eight victory for -- history by the way. Get and there are a lot of adjustments and a lot of guys stepping up to the forefront I mean we saw child -- Get off to a really bad start if they put in Adam Snyder in the second half Frank Gore with the ankle injury He didn't play well fumbled. Kendall Hunter steps in Bruce Miller at the fullback gets his first playing time ever and He doesn't well as well. And then on defense Donte Whitner gets injured on the very first drive of the game Reggie Smith would -- have. Gotten on the field but he's the one who gets the game clinching interception of Andy Dalton so. The defense played very well after that first driver Dalton's fronts and things together and then the offense got rolling a little bit after the Frank Gore fumble so. All in all -- not a real pretty game but. An impressive -- really when you think about the for -- coming in here and winning a road game something that they haven't done much in the past decade there let's get the negative. Out of the way first because that first half very ugly on the offensive line at one point the entire offensive line called for false start. The press box -- to kind of in laughter because it just certain summed up the way the 49ers first half when we Alex Smith and the game with six sacks. It was with his five but He actually hit six times as one was for no gain a lot. But what did they need to address offensive line when he's achieved his twelve sacks for Smith in the last two games they can't keep up that -- Now they can't in in what He does is mean teams look at this and they're gonna play the Eagles next Sunday. So there's going to be blood in the water and there there Sharks and they're gonna come after. Alex Smith until the corners figure out a way to block this out but obviously they made one adjustment and and not that the sacks disappeared. But Adam Snyder it's in me is is the new starting right guard Chilo Rachal. With that false starts and holding and guys getting past him in pass protection so. Know there are a whole lot of directions of 49ers can turn to improve the offensive line but I think that's one necessary move that you'll see. A full time move this coming week against the Eagles. One thing we didn't see in Seattle game and the Dallas game as 49ers making his necessary second half adjustments. Vernon Davis 84 of his receiving yards coming in the second half Alex Smith finishing. Five of six for 61 yards and one a six point two quarterback rating in the fourth quarter. Really that's something we hadn't seen before why I think it changed this game. Well I think you were able to set some things up in that throwback pass to Vernon Davis helps a big play. That. It led to be in a hundred -- Scott does a play that's been in the works for three weeks and so that's the situation finally set itself up for them to get that play. And and it was successful so. I know you I don't know fits the lock out or you are what you know is this look like a -- a game. -- on this looked like the kinda game that everybody expects to see because all these teams are in disarray. All the 49ers offense is pretty much been in disarray. Through three games and they still only had what 246. Yards him. Of of total offense which isn't good enough generally to when He gains but the defense was so good. And they really made any Dolphin. After that first drive. The rookie quarterback they made him look like a rookie. Absolutely any. Don't know interceptions before this came through his two in the final moments of his game and Carlos writers Reggie Smith the team's -- Here in Ohio for the week heading into Philadelphia we know the Eagles are banged up Michael Vick banged up as well. Even as a road win they read -- this could go very well for the heading into Philadelphia equality it bodes well because they come back home at least with a with a 22 record. And you'll win when people looked at this game against the Bengals this is again the foreigners have to win otherwise are coming home one and three so. In the NFC west are yet to do is tread water. -- and they're treading water right here on the banks of the Ohio River at the Ohio River where. Matt -- -- spend this upcoming week I am heading back to the Bay Area we are down at Youngstown Ohio. We can't see any suggestions I don't know -- knowing that nine Youngstown. Good Italian food I think you know I know now I'm I will see you next week in Philadelphia events if you have any questions for Sammy -- He can tweak them to him at. That was a Mayo goes CSN. And that's another edition of Madden -- CSN Bay Area dot com.
