Jim let's start with with all its been going on I know that. We had the negotiations in the off season you guys which are playing basketball now but as you guys are in training camp now. What's going through your mind how are you enjoying your early NBA experience. Tom really enjoying and it's it's a dream come true for me that's what I've been on to do. For my entire life to be an NBA basketball player and and now that I have an opportunity -- put on king's. The uniform it's a dream come true for me and I'm really looking forward to being able to play our first regular season game. But now we have a lot of stuff we have to cover here in training camp a lot easier to get ready for. Sort try to do the best that we can and listen to the coaching staff in terms of absorb as much information as we can. In order it's you know be ready for that first game so it's just really exciting for me but that's definitely a lot going on right now and just try to get prepared. -- Jimmer you come in with a lot of hype you led the nation in scoring you want all the major awards. Your first team all American your first round draft pick so the fans are gonna have certain expectations what about your expectations on what you can do when your first season. Yeah I know I definitely have they expectations for myself as well. You know hopefully I'll be able to -- you know play play well and do whatever it is that the coaching staff. You know wants me to do this year when I get into the game and it seems like there really wanted to score the basketball and be able to be a threat on the offensive end but also play good defense. Then be able to distribute the basketball to people you know that are open end in certain situations. So on -- I had big expectations for myself hopefully I'll be able to just make an impact. Indio let -- play really well this year and you know limit my turnovers and do things on the coaches ask of me and I mean I think if I do that'll be a successful year. And I hope this team win and end and hopefully get to the playoffs. And college your career fat and a score and all of your four years you're scoring numbers have gone up each and every year but. Prior to the draft you worked hard and trying to get NBA teams to look at you as a point guard as well. What's your position at the NBA level. Yeah I you know I think that I can definitely play the point guard position but you know I want to. You know do whatever the coaching staff wants me to do. And he tries to put an emphasis on us not any of us having you know set position that we can all play. And the guard positions in the big guys now playing the two big guy positions so he tries to really stressed out there were basketball players we're gonna go out. Know if you get the ball take it out you know -- lanes and just play basketball but none you know I definitely believe that I can. You know make plays in this league off the jumbled and be able to distribute to the guys. You know mom when they're open and I believe I have a great confidence that I can do that you could point harmlessly. You know if I -- -- all the guys in the NBA and say who kind of pushed you who got -- this level to be so good most -- point to a former coach. Most of my points a couple guys they played with throughout their career. Does your brother get the most credit for pushing you to the level you've gotten to so far. Yeah I think my my brother in mind my father Tom are both. You know right up there neck and -- they both have done a great job of working with me throughout my career. And have motivated me to get to the position that I don't want to be just. They've always you know they never forced anything I mean it was always my choice. To go out and work as hard as I possibly can but they always reminded me of my goal that when I did said that goal that they send out have to practice as hard as I possibly could and they -- -- But I was able to do that for you know my years and I was in high school and college. So I give a lot of credit to them -- you know. Keep pushing me in today gets me to the position I'm in today and I'm really grateful for what they've done. Did your brother make is that contract to do that. Yeah we did sign a contract and it's still up not came -- my bed and you know something that. -- I thought I was stupid at that time. But you know what they say whenever you have a goal the first thing they do is write it down and they had a lot of people say that that's pretty much what that was just wrote it down is able to see it. Every night before I went to sleep then I went to bed dreaming about becoming an NBA basketball player -- so those -- great idea by him and something that you know people really like now. Well people want things to happen I should write it down there in the -- a lot of people on the capital city writing down kings please stay this is going to be new for you. But in Sacramento there's -- the -- to get -- arena do you sense the urgency in the importance of this year. -- trying to keep the kings in Sacramento. You know I think that everybody wants to be able to keep the kings Sacramento we have such great fans here. And it's been a basketball city for a long time now and you know had some great teams here -- great history here. Yes I think a lot of people really want you know to keep that the kinks here and there's going to be a sense of urgency this year to do that in order to get us. And -- read -- bill and everything so now hopefully we can help with that hopefully we can have a great season and you know everything will go as planned and will be able to stay here. So we'll have to wait and see but I'm really looking forward Serbian held you know help that out and hopefully be able to say here in the Sacramento area.
