They welcome again to another edition of Raiders matchup to watch in. A while to get as -- Raiders insider CSN California I come -- again. My my wagon man from silver and black illustrated. Raiders this weekend like they got the Detroit Lions -- with a -- some hum eagerly anticipating seeing go down on the field. I don't know raider fans would be but he'll be Calvin Johnson who could generator -- going to Stanford Routt could. Okay and some may say should've been. This'll be the best receiver they see you may see some good receivers this year but this guy I mean make a job he does it all. There's I don't think that I've seen the defense to back be able to slow him down let alone shut him down so. The Raiders I don't know that they can just before -- just put Stanford linemen know they love the man to man but this is the guy I think you almost have to shadows safety over and help. Get somebody bought them off the line with a linebacker do something to slow him down. And the other half of that equation on that on that challenge for Stanford and the Raiders secondary. Would be the pass rush you wanna take Calvin Johnson out picture Matthew Stafford doesn't have time to throw I think that's probably. The only way they they survived that is that they get the Stafford and get him off. His mark early. And that's killer instinct part of that equation is the past couple weeks teams have actually taken Calvin Johnson. Out of the game the only answer and bullet catches but but it settles things you can't really stop somebody can only hope to contain him and I think. As far as this magic -- the Raiders are concerned that. You kind of -- pick your poison that's one. Yeah I mean in and that's the poison it if it's me because Detroit dozen other top running back here right now. If it's me I'm focused and all my attention on him slowed him down I have enough faith in my front or to get to the quarterback. So I think that they'll be able this is going to be yes it's definitely key matchup the one I'm looking forward to see it. I don't think that -- were about to run as much to your greater and that's good -- -- couldn't -- so I think that that kind of plays into it true they don't necessarily have to key to stop the run. And that may help work a little bit in their favor -- -- Calvin out of the game. Now we -- across to the other side of the ball literally. You got one of them the most fearsome. Most feared and some would say actually that there is player in the game coming back from his two game suspension in in the dollar Kong -- He's going to be going up against one of the more mild mannered guys they can't really be mild -- gonna be on the offensive line but. Cooper Carlisle seems to fit that line -- how's he gonna be able to -- adjusts to facing a guy coming off suspension. You know I thought -- had pretty good year this year but last year was kind of a down year for him and I think the whole offensive line. Have to come out this week was something to prove they've been manhandled the last two weeks to me. We can talk about the running game we talk about Carson Palmer's course of the offensive line's terrible the last two weeks. And you've got sue and I'm glad you had this -- for me to do that you've got soup coming back. Who's gonna be motivated he's angry because he didn't feel like he's that should be suspended even though. You know he's the 1% the rest of us in the 99% whose. He's gonna be motivated he wants to make a statement and so again I think you can go back and you know with with what we're trouble with Calvin Johnson. Not a guy I think can afford to just put Cooper Carlisle -- they're gonna have to double team in the gonna have to relate to happen and they're gonna keep the back in to chip maybe play with a a tied at which may give Brandon Myers were playing time that Kevin Boss this week so. Yet you have to account for this guy on every single play and especially. I think that that first series is going to be really really significant because he's going to be fired up ready to come -- make a statement that. Is he a younger more physical version legacy to -- -- Richard Seymour. -- -- That's a great analogy and I hadn't thought about it yeah yeah I think it was because both guys. It with quick -- ahead. I love the way they play both guys I think that's a fair assessment and you know I think. That sue me have the potential if you can -- harness some of that. Energy in a little bit -- may even be a better player than average and in the long run and he he's so critical to their defense and you know when he when they lost him I mean alliance took it took -- hit. You know I mean at that guy's as good as they get I think you know the good good analogy. You know I appreciate them like the and and that which -- -- -- to our last matchup to watch we're talking about guys like that in and the flags compliant in the Raiders. Still on pace to break the record for most penalties and penalty yardage. In a single season against the team that the that a lot of lines fans think the represent enough Portland and really the -- only seventh and penalties. But I'm looking at this as both teams against the referees. -- this is going to be a great -- to see after the end of the game which team goes well we shouldn't get you know we got messed up by the -- reason whatever. I mean both teams are playing undisciplined ball and that's like both teams are in the shape that they are mean everybody thought Detroit was going to be a world beater. The problems they've had among other things have been with the penalties no one knows what that's like more than the Raiders the race and both teams. You can point to some some questionable calls here and there but a lot of the mistakes and these two teams are making silly silly mistakes losing your head. Stop and a guy when he's on the punching it in the face. Duke I mean that's just how you just roll every day at a totally doable. No I mean that they're silly mistakes that you can't make -- -- continually hurt your team. Once you stop those these mistakes and especially a guy like Richard Seymour. Once you stop making a silly mistakes and the rest of the team and follows you're not putting yourself in giving the team automatic first down when -- in there and sure. You know you do these things and you continually shoot yourself in the foot and you wonder. Why -- defense is -- position and on the field extra time so both teams are gonna have to really really watch it this week. Because you especially as you know the other team on the other side of the field. The problem so you can keep your head this week one team over the other that you have a significant edge. Mueller the other team kind of take themselves out of the game there. All right we'll guys again guys and and ladies thanks very light and in this CSN California and I come for this week's Raiders matchup to watch. Again Paul beach yet as this. CSN. On Twitter and my. And let him in. That's it. Emma when they -- pace like and it.
