Raiders analyst Bill Romanowski played for the -- sixteen years in the National Football League you -- on Raiders postgame live on Comcast sports net California. We now Bob bring in Bill Romanowski and -- I'm guessing you're surprised at how quick this action has been taken and the fact that -- Jackson is out. You know I was really surprised to me but I play. More a bit I don't think there's words. AA recognize can be decision. I think this decision was made sooner. And it is made -- -- -- best. And he just had Reggie actually Q. What he wanted to be dot. Mark Davis has been very involved and as an organization I think a lot of people wondered what was going to happen when Al Davis passed away. Is this is the officials signaled that Mark Davis is now the new mr. Davis in the Alameda offices. There's no question. This is now. About the Mark Davis legacy. And what did Mark Davis. Gotta do what you open Raiders. For the next -- -- thirty years or -- why he made a big impact. Any major that early and he is sending a message. To go link that I wanna be one of the past and it's starting would bring him in that general manager and now. They're starting with a new head coach whoever that's -- being we don't know yet. But I tell -- -- it's. These are some good. Bold moves that he has made and it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. And bill I'll pose the same question to you that I asked our senior insider ray rattle. And that is how much did losing four of the last five missing out on the playoffs. Hurt -- Jackson's chances of having a stronger relationship moving forward with the Raiders. You know it I think the bottom line is if they've made the playoffs. It would have been hard to make a move which hue Jackson but the fact that they didn't make the playoffs. I think we made this decision easy or have been via the debate and easy daddy what you don't have a lot. -- back. Negative crass comedy Tom. The end and everybody else. So I think the fact that it really just -- not a losing four out of five but just not making the playoffs. Made this an easy decision for him. Romo the biggest in season move for this Oakland Raiders franchise came when they picked up quarterback Carson Palmer for a pretty heavy price. Now that you Jackson is gone what's the future of Carson Palmer with a silver and black. Well you gave up an awful lot for him he clearly showed. That he would -- ball. Managing your game. Running back running the field leading her team scoring points to make in the -- you need that you need to be able to make at quarterback. This clearly. Or at least the next couple years. I think is the Raiders quarterback. What you just have to do is figure out a way to restructure his contract. And make it a little more friendly -- the salary cap. We're well do you think that Mark Davis. Hired Reggie McKenzie -- fire hue Jackson or he hired you Jack -- tired. Reggie McKenzie originally -- you want to do this himself. Because Reggie McKenzie is not going to be the big guy in the office other than Martin needs he's gonna be the second in command there. You know what I I think this sort of decision that was made previously Garrity. Where the people that marquis talking. I don't say it out the fact that. Reggie. I mean he -- even -- whether it seemed to sit out and spend time well governments they didn't know why. After meeting which you Jack -- And yeah. -- An hour two hours it was clear to me. That this is not a guy that I want to leave the organization. As a head coach. And I need to make -- new decision. And I'm gonna let mark know that I don't think I have to add. I think it was where he came man. He had to make a move or mark. And let you jabs -- now that he doesn't need his services anymore and -- kind of finding new head coach I. He got this so clearly something that was orchestrated. A week two weeks ago. Now the trickle down effect hue Jackson is out the defense this season underperformed. By many people's review. As you take a look at human being out what does that mean for the defensive staff moving forward for the Raiders. You know what. -- albeit -- question now all probably be the next thing that will be handed to Reggie McKenzie. You look at it fixed I'm sure Reggie will be meeting with chuck present him. In the record. The defense is that to see how that is -- the caveat here they got big guys. Play defense in the National Football League. So he probably is -- little stronger. On that side of understanding. Of the game. So. I think that's something -- definitely look at he's got eight. Elite set top -- offense are ready that the Raiders. Where they -- so I'll. You've got to bury your head coach and you know probably an offensive. And defensive coordinator -- -- -- more nowadays guys. You can't have made head coach. Be a game manager. And any offensive coordinator I think is too much or that they handle. Bill Romanowski thanks for your insights into this I'm sure we'll talk -- you more later on in the day and very busy day thanks Romo -- great kicker --
